Master Stylist – Owner – Educator
Jeffrey, now Educator and Master Stylist, started his hairstyling career in 1984 with Frank Fedy at Frank’s Hair-styling School in Owen Sound. He stayed with Frank until the Fall of 1988 and he went to work at Casey’s Hair Waves until the Spring of 1989, when he decided to open his own shop.
In the Fall of 1985 Jeff was introduced to the Robin Barker Hairforce Academy. From then until 2012, Jeff has attended many of Robin’s Advanced Cutting Courses. With Robin’s methods, Jeff has learned to consult with the client, find out about their profession, and their lifestyle. He is able to assess their hair texture, face and head shape, their hair’s natural wave and also the way it falls. The result is a haircut/style that maintains it shape for 6-10 weeks.
In 1989 Jeff opened Mane Street Hair Salon at 1041 Second Avenue East. Shannon Hall joined the salon in 1989 and still works together with Jeff at the 8th Street East location which was opened in 1995.
In 2008 Mane Street became an Aveda Concept Salon which means the salon carry only Aveda skin, hair and makeup products. All of the staff take advantage of the color, make up and customer service training, such as the 12 Points of Difference Course offered by Aveda professionals. Jeffrey continuously supports Aveda and has attended the Aveda World Congress twice.
As of 2018 Jeffrey has completed and attended many specialty courses some include; Visiting Lupe Voss in Red lands California twice, hosting Lupe Voss at the Mane Street Salon, and once more in Toronto. Another course is the Vidal Sassoon Cutting course.
Their goal is to have each guest, male or female, have a positive experience at our salon, and to book their next appointment before leaving. You can expect to be greeted warmly, offered a beverage, and time permitting, a scalp or hand massage. Also, the hair style best suited to you.
